Tellabs Taps Verizon for Internal Network Services

It was a tough week for Tellabs (TLAB), which a few days ago revealed a third-quarter loss of $1 billion. But, on the glass-half-full side, Tellabs is moving ahead internally with its own communications network through a deal with Verizon Communications.

Through a new deal, Verizon will provide Tellabs with its private IP, long-distance and Internet services as well as, from the Verizon Wireless side, various back-office and device-management services.
