AT&T Powers U-verse Content AllureTelco Adds HD Titles to VoD Library
Bob Wallace
09/10/2008 Having finally begun to support to two simultaneous high-definition (HD) streams as part of its TV service starting a few months ago, AT&T Inc. (T) is taking the next logical step in adding HD movies (free and pay) to the video-on-demand part of its U-verse package. Until the third quarter of this year, AT&T could not support two concurrent streams. That meant a U-verse customer could not watch an HD TV show and concurrently record another. That’s now changing fast with the long-sought capability supported in a growing number of markets where U-verse if offered. Many of its cable giant rivals already offer HD programming, such as movies, in their VoD libraries.
