Alltel Launches XM Satellite Radio

Alltel Wireless has announced an agreement with XM Satellite Radio to offer Alltel customers XM Radio Mobile service for $7.99 per month.

The deal gives Alltel subscribers access to XM Satellite Radio programming over their wireless phones.

The application was developed by MobiTV, which provides television and digital radio services for cellular, Wi-Fi and broadband-enabled devices.

Alltel Wireless customers will receive audio streams of commercial-free XM music channels, which offer a wide range of music genres. The service also will allow customers to view the song title, artist and album while listening on compatible handsets.
