Verizon Brings FiOS Service to Westchester County

Verizon Communications Inc. is offering its FiOS Internet service to homes in the Westchester County towns of Rye and Armonk, N.Y.

The consumer broadband service comes in three classes with download speeds in 5, 15 and 30mbos increments. Pricing starts at $34.95 and goes up to $199.95 per month.

Verizon is using its FTTP network to deliver the FiOS services. The largest local phone company has portions of the network built in New York and 11 other states.

Verizon offers FiOS service either as part of a bundle of local and long-distance calling services or as a standalone Internet access service.
