TIA Names New Board Members

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) today announced eight new board directors and officers to serve in 2004.

Three of the four officers, including TIA Chairman Mike Kennedy, held the posts last year, but there is a new treasurer, Gerry Kennedy, who is principle vice president with Bechtel Telecommunications.

New board members include:

• Bryan Glutting, vice president, Atlanta Cable Sales

• Keith Landau, vice president, wireless voice core development, Nortel Networks Corp.

• John McQueen, chairman and CEO, TPM Inc.

• Chris Rust, president and CEO, Mahi Networks Inc.

• Jim Schleckser, president, Spirent Communications-Broadband Service Assurance

• John Schofield, chairman, president and CEO, AFC Inc.

Two other executives are filling in for board members who were unable to complete their terms. The new board members are Perry Kamel, executive vice president and general manager, Siemens Next Generation Carrier Networks; and Mikael Stromquist, executive vice president and general manager, Ericsson Inc.

All but one of the executives on the association’s 34-member board of directors serve three-year terms, but they can be reelected.

The chairman, however, can serve only two years. Mike Kennedy, senior vice president and director of global government relations with Motorola Inc., is serving his second and final year as TIA chairman
